John Parish and PJ Harvey collaborate after years.

This past week was a good one for concerts in Blacksburg. The Lantern in particular managed to grab two larger acts in a row on Wednesday and Thursday, and I had the good fortune to be able to attend both.

In short, New Thrill Parade was gloomy and mind-blowing, Abiku was eardrum-piercing and shiny, and The Bastards kept it low key.  Read more about this under-attended, yet well-worthwhile show.
