What You May've Missed at Vinyl Night
written by Jessica Lalwani on
On September 3rd, WUVT hosted its very first Vinyl Night of the semester! The Vinyl Night was Back to Skool themed and featured three WUVT DJs, dwaz, Soupdog, and Late Night Infomercial. These three magical DJs browsed our stacks for the best Back to Skool songs that spoke to their souls.

Dwaz played hits off of Something by Todd Rundgren and Tonight by David Bowie. Soupdog played some fun songs off of Country Life by Roxy Music and Lovesong by The Cure. Finally, Late Night Infomercial played some albums such as Menagerie by Bill Withers and The Wall by Pink Floyd.
This Vinyl Night was our biggest turnout yet, and we are excited to keep this attendance rolling! If you are looking to attend our next Vinyl Night in October, here are some things you can look forward to and some things you don’t want to miss out on. Besides enjoying the lovely music, you can enjoy the scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and soak up the nice weather outside; there's plenty of outdoor seating available. If you have a social, furry friend in your household, Rising Silo Brewery is a great place to let them get some energy out whilst enjoying some tunes.
Rising Silo Brewery also has a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to quench your thirst after enjoying some of their amazing food. (Insider tip: try the pink sauce with their fries)
Vinyl Night is the perfect way to kickstart your weekend by enjoying good company and learning some new music tracks. Attendees frequently bring card games, books, or just new friends to make the night even more fun.
Chat with the DJs about their picks; most Vinyl Nights are themed, leading to some fun combinations from our plentiful stacks! Here is some insider commentary about the last Vinyl Night!
“At my first Vinyl Night for WUVT, I wasn't too sure what to expect. I joined a table inside of Rising Silo with some friends. We played some card games, and I got the chance to talk to new people as well! I honestly had a better time than I expected, and the music being played by my dear friend Kristine was spectacular! I would 100% recommend that people come to Vinyl Night and have a fun, relaxing time!” - Christopher Johan. Reyes-Palma
