First WUVT House Show Review Fall 2025
written by Declan Wasnock on
WUVT has just put on its first house show of the semester, and it was an absolute banger. With a turnout of over 100 people, the energy was amazing. The main crowd was watching the show in the living room, but with so many people, they filled the whole house and spilled out into the backyard.
The lineup consisted of 3 local punk rock bands. Starting us off was Unmarked Pavement. They were a fantastic opener; their crowd work and stage presence were amazing, and really got the energy up for the rest of the show, playing classic covers from Avril Lavigne, MCR, and Fall Out Boy, in addition to some killer originals. You may think it impossible to crowd surf at a house show, but you would be wrong, the mosh pit was insane. This energy followed us through to Smog City, a more metal/screamo band. They were incredible, and what really shone in this act was the bass player, Silvia Barrese. She added a funky kind of vibe to metal that I haven’t heard before, a really cool sound.
Finally, to end us off was Patty Carver, a fantastic closer with a bit more of a classic rock vibe, playing covers of Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam. Every member of this band was truly fantastic and skilled at their instrument; they were so much fun to listen and dance to.
Overall, the house show was a hit; filled with the coolest people, a surprisingly hype mosh pit for a living room, and amazing music.
