The Greatest Week in Radio Continues

written by Eric C. Landgraf on

Day one of the Greatest Week in Radio is winding to a close, and as it does, we here in the WUVT studios are jamming out to some smooth grooves from Cool DJ Cutty Sharp. If today wasn't enough to convince you that we have radio for everyone, we have the whole rest of the week with great themed shows for you!

If you're on campus, you should wander up to our remote (the big white box playing music) and spin this contraption:

Here's another message from our General Manager:

Good Evening!

We're nearing the end of the very first day of our Spring 2017 Radiothon, and it's easy to say that things have spun up right into the thick of the greatest week of radio. We've heard some creative and entertaining shows today, and I know the rest of the week will offer themes and personalities just as wonderful.

As I write this, the current donation total is at $1,659.07. It makes me proud to see our great community rally so quickly in support of WUVT. We do still have a long way to go before our goal of $15,000, but I'm confident we'll be able to make it there, with your support.

Coming up tomorrow, we have a number of great shows on the lineup:

  • 2-4AM: Our FM Program Director Andrew Barber brings you a cool selection of unreleased and unknown tracks for some late night grooves
  • 9AM-12PM: It's another WUVT Graffititacular as Captain Deaf Jean and his loyal Squirrels scour the vinyl stacks to find great examples of the hilarious and weird writings left on our library's album covers over the years
  • 2-3:30PM: The Rug Boys return with Chrissy at the helm to whisk you off on a magic carpet ride through the international stacks
  • 7-9PM: The Monster of Love takes listeners on a journey to uncover the true conspiracy behind all of life with "The Monster at the End of this Book"

And this is just the beginning. We have these shows and many more all week long on your radio dial and favorite Internet box. The WUVT crew will also be out with our Remote through all of Radiothon, so if you're in town, come find us and say hello!

The full schedule for tomorrow, along with premium information and donation links, can be found on our website. And as always, we'll be posting updates on our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram all week long.

Rock on,

Emmet Hobgood

Radio for Everyone

Emmet has pretty succinctly summed up the shows for today. I'm excited for Calvin Long's show, highlighting families of folk musicians.

And as always, keep listening to WUVT-FM, The Greatest Radio Station in the World!
